I am working with a key client in the Louisville KY area on a Welding Engineering position and your background seems to be a match at first glance. My client has been in business since 1947 and began with only 3 employees. They now have 4 plants on the campus in KY with locations in PA and Indiana. This is a locally run company serving market leaders in a wide variety of industries. Summary:
• Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment or problems involving fabrication of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Utilizes knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles.
• Conducts research and development in this field.
o Develops and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improves existing or new welding equipment.
Develops new or advanced welding methods, techniques, and procedures, to substantiate created hypothesis.
• Prepares technical reports as result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations.
• Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post heating requirements.
Requirements;
BS Welding Engineering
3-5 years experience in mfg/job shop
Experience with welding and weld technology
Experience with aluminum and titanium preferred
Laser welding experience highly preferred
