Welding Jobs Description
The candidate selected for this position must be able to:- Weld metal components with a variety of arc and gas welding equipment (Sub Arc, TIG, MIG and Cladding) to fabricate or repair Blowout Preventers (BOP) and pressure containing parts.
- Machine parts - all types of oilfield equipment, and plant equipment.
- Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
- Repair broken or cracked parts, and fill holes.
- Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
- Locate and repair cracks in parts as required.
- Pass welding qualification test for each required WPS.
- Ensure equipment and working area is in safe and proper working condition at all times.
- Must be a self starter, work well with others and be willing to work within all other departments as needed.
- Capable of performing required skills under limited supervision.

Job Requirement
- Set-up and operate welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
- Feed work piece into welding machine to join or bond components.
- Observe and listen to welding machine and its gauges to ensure welding process meets specifications.
- Turn and press controls, such as cranks, knobs, and buttons to adjust and activate welding process.
- Operate welding machine to produce trial work pieces used to examine and test.
- Examine steel pipes or assemblies to ensure specifications are met.
- Tend auxiliary equipment used in welding process.
- Clean and maintain work pieces and welding machine parts using hand tools and equipment.
